TACTICAL TRANSPARENCY (2018)

2018 / installation / Keteleer Gallery, Antwerp (BE) / aluminium, plastic sheets, chalk, Plexiglas
In this installation, Van Wolputte creates a fictive workspace containing traces of the artist’s process. He uses chalk as his material of choice, reclaiming a material and tactic often used in the public space to mask the windows of abandoned buildings and prevent people from looking inside, thus also robbing them of one last glance at places that will soon be gone. It is the artist’s way of taking back or reappropriating the tools which are used against him.
